In this chapter, a conceptual model is developed by extending theory of planned
behavior (TPB) by introducing several major antecedent factors which have been
believed to have important influences on online consumer behavior. This TPB-based
conceptual model fully adopts the positivist paradigm of consumer science in that it
examines online consumer behavior from economic, behavioral, cognitive, attitudinal,
situational, motivational, and social influential perspectives. In addition, this model
adopts the IT beliefs, that is, IT-related variables have become at least as important as
traditional factors in predicting online consumer behavior
