1. Background
The economic slowdown in Vietnam is having a beneficial effect on Thai tourism as travelers look for short-haul holiday destinations to save costs. Taking advantage of this trend, VietJet Air, a low-cost carrier of Vietnam, launched a Hanoi to Bangkok service, flying seven times a week. And The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a campaign to promote tourism in low season in Thailand by offering discounts at major department stores and cheap plane tickets. All of above effect a large number of Vietnamese tourists come to Thailand. However, we also believe that there should be other factors that also affect the huge flow of Vietnamese tourists coming to Thailand.
