Victor Valdes insists he is 'working hard for this season' at Manchester United despite being dropped for the club's USA tour
Victor Valdes appears determined to work his way back into Louis van Gaal's plans after not being selected for Manchester United's pre-season tour of the USA.
The Spaniard was surprisingly left at home by Van Gaal on Monday as United's players flew to Seattle but he took to Twitter on Tuesday to show fans that he is still training hard at Carrington, presumably with the club's youth players.
Alongside a picture of himself giving a thumbs-up inside a changing room, Valdes wrote: 'After a Hard Training Session this morning, i am working hard for this Season ! Come on You Reds !!!!'
The Spaniard's name was missing from United's travelling squad when it was announced on Monday but no reason was given to explain why he was left out.
Valdes, who only joined the club in January, acted as back-up to No 1 David de Gea for the second half of last season and appeared in the final two Premier League games of the campaign.
But with De Gea being targeted by La Liga giants Real Madrid, Valdes was expected to stake a claim to become Van Gaal's first-choice keeper next term.
