John Smith (Brad Pitt) and Jane Smi

John Smith (Brad Pitt) and Jane Smith (Angelina Jolie) are in marriage counseling. They’ve been married for around five or six years but they are both bored. What seemed to herald the start of a wonderful union has metamorphosed into a dull and mundane existence. This is far from their first meeting in Bogota, Colombia where they danced the night away and fell in love.

Reality is much more exciting. What the other doesn’t know is that they are both assassins for competing firms, and the marriage in suburbia is the perfect cover.

The facade is blown when they both receive a job for the same man, Benjamin ‘The Tank’ Danz (Adam Brody). Jane has a technical approach to her hits, but John has a more ‘organic’ approach to his profession. The hit turns into a mess and is blundered; leaving the two would be assassins with some explaining to do.

Back home the two assassins trade blows in an attempt to eliminate each other. This fight, far from destroying the marriage, seals their love for one another and helps them work as a team.

Now their own companies are after the Smiths and the have to fight their way out of their quickly disintegrating house.

John and Jane decide to get to the bottom of this by breaking into the secure facility that is holding Danz, kidnap him and work out what is going on.
