I am pleased to announce that Prasad Tumati will join us on January 2, 2014 as Global Product Director, Clamping Technology reporting to me. Because of the strategic needs and business opportunities in our power clamps product line – we need to add focus and resources. In this role Prasad will be responsible for developing and implementing the global product strategy for part of the Power Clamps product line including: non-automotive power clamps, pivot units, shot and hook pins and sheet metal grippers. He will partner with Peter Schauss, Global Product Director for Power Clamps who will continue to focus on our core Power Clamps for automotive customers. Prasad will be located at the Corporate Office in Auburn Hills, MI.
Prasad has extensive experience in product management, new product development, sales and engineering with industrial, automotive, and aerospace companies and customers.
He joins us from Parker Hannifin Corporation where he was National Sales & Applications Engineering Manager for the heavy duty truck business. Prior to Parker, Prasad was Director of Engineering at DAVCO/Penske Automotive, Chief Engineer for the Diesel Category of Commercial Vehicle Engineering for Arvin Meritor and Project Lead Manager for Daimler-Chrysler/Bombardier Transportation Systems. Earlier in his career, Prasad was a faculty member in Mechanical Engineering at Tuskegee University in Alabama and then was recruited in to industry by the Conoco/Consol Inc. (Dupont), Combustion Group as a Senior Research & Development Engineer.
Prasad is a Mechanical Engineer with a Master of Science degree and a Ph.D. from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science degree from Andhra University in India.
He enjoys golfing and likes to practice martial arts.
