In order to sustain vocational personnel development, Ministry of Education has issued a proclamation stating a guideline for bilateral education standards. The aim is to groom students to possess high vocational skills and be ethical at work, while also having good foreign-language skills as demanded by the private sector in the advent of the AEC. For instance, automotive and auto-parts occupational cluster will need around 500,000-600,000 laborers. The subcommittee for this occupational cluster will work with Office of the Vocational Education Commission, Department of Skill Development, Federation of Thai Industries, and Thai Auto parts Manufacturers Association to develop bilateral vocational curriculum which has been acknowledged by the private sector. Students will have a chance to intern at workplaces for at least half of the total program period. Students will also receive stipends during their course of study and learned new technology from their internship. Meanwhile, the workplaces could also train and prepare future manpower, and will receive privileges through support of the internship.
