Supporting Emotional Development
Miss Trying had a difficult day. Although she had only three babies assigned to her, there was never enough time to relax and enjoy them. The basic problem was Jesse. “Jesse,” Miss Trying explained to the director, "is the most difficult infant I have ever tried to look after: He's as taut as a violin string. If you move too fast or not fast enough, if you get his bottle a little bit too hot or not quite hot enough, he’ll start to scream and it's impossible to soothe him. I wish I knew if he's like this at home, but I never get a chance to talk to his mother."
