Australians have a reputation for being relaxed or `laid back', but this might be a myth. Some studies in recent years have shown that Australians are some of the hardest workers in the developed world. Lots of Australians stay late at work, take work home with them at night and on weekends and do not take their all holidays.
Many young Australians work part-time while they are studying at university or even while still at school. Most jobs are to be found in the largest cities, which attract people from across the country. The number of people in Australia who do not have a job is quite low.
