In addition to economic aspects, anthropogenic factors may
be influencing the emerging fishery of S. annulatus in BMA, from
the need to diversify the fisheries resources in search of alternative
or emerging resources, to addressing the demands of firstlevel
buyers in the marketing chain. They could also relate to the
adoption of fishing techniques associated with cultural aspects
like migration patterns; the composition of the fishing community
in BMA includes nearly 50% of persons from other
states, particularly from Sinaloa, Sonora, and Michoacan (Ojeda,
2012).
