The research assistant asked the participants about their primary concerns. Results of these semistructured interviews are displayed in Table 2. One (3.1%) participant reported a concern about CPS involvement. Fourteen (43.8%) of the 32 participants reported concerns about their child experiencing withdrawal symptoms at birth, 10 (31.3%) participants reported concerns about the child’s general health after birth, and 6 (18.8%) participants reported concerns about the birthing process. Other concerns were reported, but they were not related to parenting ability. For example, one (3.1%) participant was concerned with the transition from buprenorphine/naloxone to buprenorphine.
