Britain's anti-Isil force 'lamentably small' says general
Maj Gen Jonathan Shaw said Britain had “talked big, but delivered small” in both the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns and had disappointed allies in America.
Maj Gen Jonathan Shaw was Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff before he retired in 2012. He told MPs: "The amount of force we sent off to attack Isil on the ground in Iraq was lamentable and raised real questions about the sort of capabilities we have got.
