Operator work stations provide the information necessary to
the operator for correct control of the power system. The
information must be organized in a very clear manner in order
that the operator immediately sees what is important and what
needs his attention. Generally there is a main PMS operator
work station in the central control room, near the process
control work stations. The main work station normally has dual
screens allowing permanent visualization of the status of the
power system while allowing the operator to work on the other
screen. Often there are local PMS work stations in each
substation, these work stations being primarily used when
maintenance work is being carried out.
