Abstract
The morphology and infraciliature of a marine ciliate Litonotus yinae n. sp. inhabiting a fish farming pond in Qingdao, People's Republic of China (Tsingtao, 36°08′N; 120°43′E) are described. The new species differs from other similar members of the genus in its habitat and general appearance, e.g., body size, distribution of extrusomes, numbers of somatic kineties on both sides, and features of its left side. The most important characteristics of some related small Litonotus species are morphologically and morphometrically compared and tabled.
