Excellent location, cozy, clean, almost impeccable

The location is perfect, right beside the river and downtown area, two bus stops away to Chinatown, and two MRT stations within 10 minutes walking distance, including Raffles Place station with direct line to Changi airport. The noise of nighttime restaurants and bars don't reach the bedroom so we managed to sleep very well (though we did stay in off-peak days, and one night we have the 8-bed mixed dorm to ourselves) and the bed with fluffy blanket were clean white and very comfortable. The dorm room has two home ACs we can set up manually and we don't need our adapter to use the electric socket. If I have complain, it's that the back wall of the bedroom border straight to the backalleys (like most of storefront building type around the area) and one time around 4AM there was loud construction machine going on for an hour that kept us awake. Otherwise it's all calm and cool. The wifi is fast but weak so you have to go to the lounge (you almost can't connect if you sit near the front door and window) but I guess it's all right, since you don't want to have people giggling watching cat videos in their phones at the dorm room while you're trying to sleep. The staffs respond to our emails quickly and are very helpful, providing us with shuttle bus suggestions and direction from KL to Singapore and how to reach the hostel, and how to enter in case we arrive after the front desk are closed, etc. With the keycard (require deposit) it's easy to go out and back at midnight. Hard to recommend to family travelers, since it's just 2 mins walk to the southeast end of Circular road, which is p. much a red light area at night. But otherwise it's a very cozy and strategically located hostel.
