You can greet people at home any way you want but at work, you are the voice of the company when you pick up a call. Hence the necessity that your greeting be professional and representative of the company. You don't have to play receptionist if after the greeting, you can refer all incoming calls except the obviously wrong number calls to the receptionists - They are trained to take incoming calls and route them as appropriate.
