The crude turmeric extract was prepared by
mechanically stirring turmeric powder (500 g) with methanol (1.8 L)
at 25 °C for 24 h. The mixture was filtered through a fritted funnel,
and after washing the marc with fresh methanol, the solvent from the
combined filtrate and washings was stripped off under vacuum using
a 20l Laborota 20 rotary evaporator
