The Organisation of International Support for Dental Education (OISDE) from Japan has agreed to continue to conduct the Oral Health Promotion Programme in Vientiane Province.
The programme, worth US$550,000 will run in seven districts of Vientiane Province for three years (2015-2018) and is a great contribution to the socio-economic development in Laos, and in particular the public health sector.
The MoU signing ceremony was held on 23 September, in Vientiane Capital, between OISDE’s President Professor Takeshi Miyata and Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Associate Professor SengphouvanhNgonephady in the witnesses of the Deputy Minister of Public Health, Dr Som Ok Kingsada.
The programme will focus on training students of dentistry in seven districts in Vientiane Province and aims to provide them with greater skills and training in checking for oral diseases and conditions.
The Japanese funded programme will also launch a master course on dentistry.
