It will be interesting to see how republicon governators handle the problem along the gulf coast and southeastern seaboard. Total denial of reality will not work.
In some places, like Iceland and Greenland, the land is rising and due to glacial melt. In other places, ocean currents push the water up against land and increase the sea level locally. The ocean is really big and does not sit "flat" on the planet surface. It sloshes around and has bulges and troughs.
