In the literature
cadmium levels in fish samples have been reported in the
range of 0.51–0.73 mg kg1 dry weight in fish species from
Dhaleshwari river, Bangladesh (Ahmed et al., 2009). There is
no maximum Cd level established for dietary intake of fish consumption
in the Bangladeshi legislation. The estimated daily
intake (EDI) of cadmium through fish consumption was found
as 0.001 mg d1.
