In addition, we found that sensors relied on the special
nucleophilicity of cyanide was promising owing to their high
selectivity.21–24 The nucleophilic addition reaction between
cyanide and the dicyano-vinyl group would break the conjugation
of the electron donor and acceptor, thus, affecting the ICT
efficiency and optical properties of the sensing system. If it was
the case, this approach should be a new one for the development
of ICT-based chemosensors.
