Regardless of intentions, the woman didn't want it shown not because she felt they were just being hostile but because she genuinely did not want them to be able to express their opinions. She wanted to silence their speech.
Speech has MANY purposes. Sometimes it isn't as clear cut as "this is my belief let me show it to everyone" as we see in Christmas displays. Sometimes speech is intended as a test of the laws or as a subtle message of..."Hey, live life the way you want not the way a 3,000 year old book days".
The angel falling from the sky in the diaplay is, of course, the angel Lucifer being expelled from heaven after a rebellion against God. Lucifer is nothing more than a personification of human natures inclination to rebel against authority. The morning star, also sometimes portrayed as the greek God prometheus, the bearer and giver of thenlight to humanity. Lucifer plays an integral role in the old and new testament as well as the Quran. He serves as the main antagonist to God. Many people view lucifer not as an evil deity but newer interpretations of him are that of a misunderstood rebel, a striking figure of independence and high aspirations who was cast out by God. People who have studied the bible, even going back to John Miltons Paradise lost have portrayed Lucifer in that light.
In Paradise Lost Lucifer makes a speech after being cast down to earth:
"Above his equals. Farewel happy Fields
Where Joy for ever dwells: Hail horrours, hail
Infernal world, and thou profoundest Hell
Receive thy new Possessor: One who brings
A mind not to be chang'd by Place or Time.
The mind is its own place, and in it self
Can make a Heav'n of Hell, a Hell of Heav'n.
What matter where, if I be still the same?"....."Here we may reign secure, and in my choyce
To reign is worth ambition though in Hell."...
