Key injury prevention roles for those involved in paediatrics
Evidence from effective approaches to injury prevention suggests five key roles for those involved in paediatrics:
1.
collecting and sharing information on the causes, incidence and severity of injuries
2.
individual health education
3.
providing high quality treatment and rehabilitation
4.
participating in local multi-agency alliances
5.
advocacy.
Opportunities to contribute to local injury prevention efforts are summarised in Box 3 and discussed further below.
