As a tool in preliminary engineering, TRANSYT-7F provided m
effective means for analyzing a large CBD network but the restricted
level-of-detail applied during this phase required caution in use of the
model output, The scope of preliminary engineering did not allow for
a full scale modeling effort thus not all CBD intersections were included
in the network. These gaps in the network required the modeler to
estimate impacts from these non-network intersections including midstream
volumes, signal timing and pedestrian impacts on travel time,
and transit operation impacts. For the most part these impacts could not
be accounted for without additiond data.
