Exclusive Interview: Daisy Lowe On Films & Fashion
We caught up with super stylish actress and model to talk about her latest role...
Daisy Lowe has always been one of our major fashion crushes, rocking an off-duty catwalk look to perfection. But this summer expect to see Daisy in a role like never before as she stars in the gripping new Brit thriller Confine. We caught up with the actress and model to talk all things film and fashion...
How did you get into acting? Is this your first film?
Acting was something I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl. It felt like a natural progression from modelling because I've always loved playing a character.
Over the years I've done a few short films and Noah and the Whales 'first days of spring'. Confine is my first lead role in a feature.
Describe ‘Confine’ in three words…
Dark, gripping, unpredictable...
How did you prepare for the role? Do you think your modelling career helped?
With modelling I love embodying a different character at each photo shoot, which is was good training to build on. I also watched a lot of hostage genre films such as Panic Room. I also watched As Good Gets to learn from Jack Nicholson's obsessive compulsive behaviour. The rehearsal time before hand was hugely important. Though, I really didn't get much!
CHEAT YOUR WAY TO DAISY LOWE HAIR!
If you had to choose between modelling and acting, which one would win?
I think it will forever be a constant battle because I enjoy them both so much!
Any plans to do an Alexa Chung and leave London for the States?
London will always be my home but I do love spending time in States.
You’ve always been known for your amazing style, do you have any swear-by styling tips?
Always be comfortable in what you wear and only wear what you feel great in.
Do you have any plans to do any more fashion lines?
I love designing and enjoy the process so would love to do more in the future.
We see that you’ve just been to Glastonbury, what was your fave Glastonbury moment?
This year my favourite moment was watching Eliza Doolittle and Jessie Ware on stage with Disclosure it was like being at a 90s dance party!
Finally, what’s your song of the summer?
You and Me by Disclosure featuring Eliza Doolittle, and Waiting All Night by Rudimental.
