In Arab countries, the energy sector is characterized by heavy reliance on fossil fuels. As a result, the sector has adverse environmental impacts on air, water and land resources. Total carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are estimated at around 900 million tons in 2001 [4]. With a share per capita equals to 3.1 metric tons/year, which is around the world share per capita that equals to 3.87 metric tons/year [4].
