process. Nanoencapsulation was carried out by dialyzing 100ml of solution containing 0.06g polymer and 0.04g astaxanthin in dimethylformamide (DMF), against Milli-Q® water. The obtained suspension of astaxanthin-encapsulated nanoparticles in water was then subjected to SEM and TEM analysis. To obtain the loading capacity and encapsulation efficiency, the amounts of astaxanthin recovered in the dialysate were determined using UV absorption spectroscopy(atof473nm)withtheaidofacalibrationcurve.The amount of astaxanthin that was encapsulated was determined by subtracting the amount of astaxanthin used with amount of astax- anthin found in the dialysate (after confirming the absence of any astaxanthin precipitate in the dialysis bag).
