The composts
(without worms, M1 and C1) of MSW and CD showed low rate of
decomposition which ranged from 25% to 30%. Similar studies suggest
that the decomposition rate depends on the efficiency of
earthworm species and the nature of organic material mix used
for vermicomposting (Karmegam and Daniel, 2009a; Prakash and
Karmegam, 2010b).
