The composition, as well as the procedure before the Court, is regulated in the Labour Disputes (Judicial Procedure) Act and to the extent a specific issue is not regulated there, the procedural rules as found in the Code of Judicial Procedure are applicable. A judging panel for the Labour Court consists of at most seven members total. Three typically are non-partisan members, a chair and vice-chair trained in law, with the third member an expert in the labour market. Four are then partisan members, two appointed by the employer organisations and two by the employee organisations. A certain exception to this constellation now exists with respect to cases raising issues of unlawful discrimination.
