Regarding the relationship between perceived innovation characteristics and
computer technology adoption, Al-Gahtani (2003) conducted a quantitative research in Saudi Arabia and found
that relative advantage, compatibility and observability were positively related to the adoption of technology,
whereas complexity was negatively correlated. Hence, ‘innovations that are perceived by individuals as having
greater relative advantage, compatibility, observability, and less complexity will be adopted more rapidly than
other innovations’ (Rogers, 2003, p.16).
