The results showed that the aboveground part con- tains potent natural scavengers of rather stable DPPH radical which is in agreement with results concerning high scavenging capacity, high content of GSH and low lipid peroxidation in aboveground part (Tables 2, 3 and
4). Also, accumulation of LFC and products of tissue degradation were lower in the aboveground part than in the flowers (Figs 1 and 2).
