Thai Airways is the first airline in the world to receive a Carbon Footprint logo to show efficient carbon and green house gas management for two dishes on their menu.
Thai Airways International President, Piyasawat Amaranand, stated that the company was the first in Thailand to qualify for the carbon footprint logo for two Thai dishes served to customers on the flights to Europe, Australia and New Zeeland. He elaborated that Thailand was also the first country in the region to lodge carbon footprint assurance.
The first dish of Thai Airways that has qualified is Chicken Mussaman Curry served with Jasmine rice and fried vegetables. The carbon footprint per one dish of 250 grams is 1.36 kg. The second dish is Green Chicken Curry and Jasmine rice with fried vegetable with a calculated carbon footprint of 1.39 kg.
