A well-mixed mixture of phloracetop

A well-mixed mixture of phloracetophenone (1 mmol), geranyl bromide (1 mmol), and anhydrous
potassium carbonate (0.5 mmol) in dry methanol (3 mL) was refluxed for 8 h. The resultant products
were extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layers were combined, dried and concentrated. The
extract was redissolved in ethyl acetate and purified using flash column chromatography over silica gel,
eluted with petroleum ether/ethyl acetate
