Hays (Rex). Maserati 8C-3000 Model Racing Car. A fine hand-built scale-model of the famous Grand Prix monoposto, c.1948, finely detailed and hand-crafted by the renowned model-maker of the 1930s and 1940s, all parts hand built including spoked wire-wheels with rubber tyres, wooden body meticulously shaped and painted with several gloss coats of paint in authentic original Siamese livery of the famous White Mouse Stable run by Prince Chula (Chakrabongse) for his nephew Prince `Bira` (Birabongse) of Siam, having detailed cockpit with four-spoke steering-wheel instrumentation and leather padded seat etc., this particular model created individually in the late pre-war form of the car, as driven at Brooklands, Donington and Chimay etc during the late 1930s, excellent original condition, previously in long-term ownership collection commissioned direct from the model-maker, length 9ins (23cm) (1)
