When Fern reached home, she started telling her mother about what the story Charlotte told to Wilbur. She told her mother about Charlotte’s cousin who had a fish stuck in her web as her web was across a stream. Then she began to tell the whole story but before that, her mother told her to stop inventing nonsense. After that, Fern’s mother tells her to go and play with her friends instead of going to the barn. But Fern insists on going to the barn. After Fern had disappeared, her mother starts to worry about her. She made up her mind to see Dr. Dorian in order to have some advice. Off she goes and meets him in his office. After some time, she pours the whole story to him. Then they started talking about the pig and the spider. After a few minutes of conversation, Dr. Dorian asks about Fern whether she looking well, always hungry and is sleeping well at night. Mrs. Arable just nods her head. Dr. Dorian replies that if the conditions are right, Fern will be alright. After everything was over, Mrs. Arable thanks Dr. Dorian for his advice and goes off. She was actually greatly relieved. From this, we know the care and true love Mrs. Arable have for Fern.
