This maximum
desorption is due to the competing nature of OH ions for the
adsorption sites at high pH. The results are shown in Table 4.
Adsorption desorption studies were conducted for four cycles.
After four cycles, desorption was decreased from 95.73% in the first
cycle to 86.45% in the fourth cycle. These results agree with the
hypothesis that the adsorption of TCP onto organoclay is mainly
due to physical adsorption.
