Eight fiberglass tanks were used with a volume of 850 L of water
(1.0 m2 bottom area), populated with 30 shrimps weighing 3.03 ±
0.11 g. The experimental units were located in a greenhouse with
natural light, and the temperature of the tanks was controlled by a
Full Gauge thermostat (MT512 RI, Porto Alegre, RS) regulated to
maintain the temperature at ±28 °C with 1000 W titanium heaters.
Aeration was kept constant through diffusion hoses (aero-tube®) connected
to a 7.5 HP air blower (Ibram Indústria Brasileira de Máquinas
e Equipamento, São Paulo, SP).
