RESULTS
Descriptive Statistics
The numbers of males and females in experimental
and comparison groups were similar. Most
subjects in both groups had a junior or senior high
school education and no religion or were Buddhists.
The proportion taking traditional antipsychotic
drugs (for example, sulpiride, haloperidol,
trifluoperazine, and so on) was higher than those
taking risperidone (Table 1). The average age of
the two groups was 35 years old; the average age at
incidence was 21 years old; the average number of
years since incidence was between 12 and 14
years; the average score of BPRS was between 6
and 7; and the score for irrational belief was 187-
190 (Table 2).
The pregroup differences were examined by 2
