Hunger Relief
The company officially partnered with Feeding America in its mission in 2011.
The company partners with Feeding America and its affiliated food banks and food shelves to fight hunger in the United States. Additionally, when appropriate, company subsidiaries will provide in-kind gifts and employee volunteer opportunities, and build awareness of Feeding America within the employee base and customer base.
In 2013, subsidiaries of The Schwan Food Company gave more than one-million pounds of food to Feeding America’s affiliated food banks; and employees in Bloomington and Marshall, Minnesota, donated their time to affiliated food banks and food shelves in Minnesota.
Youth
Specifically, we focus on the enhancement of youth leadership and education opportunities through organizations such as Enactus (formerly known as Students in Free Enterprise) and offer scholarship opportunities at local universities in communities where we have large numbers of employees.

Scholarships at Southwest Minnesota State University
Schwan Scholarship Program was created to support youth education and leadership development. This scholarship program provides $1,000 scholarships each year for up to 100 children of certain full-time employees of subsidiaries of The Schwan Food Company.
