Study 4: Validation of the PLCQ-OR
We conducted Study 4 to cross-validate the structure of the PLCQ-OR in a
different setting, a civil service department.Moreover, we aimed to assess construct
validity of the PLCQ-OR and to provide initial evidence for criterion validity.
Furthermore, in our first wording of PLCQ-OR’s Item 3, we focused on how the
employee rates the leader’s communicative behavior toward all subordinates. This
probably caused the low loading in Study 3. Therefore, in Study 4, we slightly
changed the wording of this item by focusing on the leader’s communicative
behavior only toward the rater.
