Asia-Pacific Cancer Leaders’ Summit
The Asia-Pacific Cancer Leaders’ Summit will leverage an opportunity to progress attainment of the targets identified in the UICC’s World Cancer Declaration, with a focus on key priorities in the Asia-Pacific. At the same time, the meeting will examine regional activities related to the World Health Organization’s Non-communicable Disease Global Monitoring Framework, promoting action on the nine global targets and 25 indicators. The event will drive progress on cancer prevention and control by strengthening the foundations of high-level diplomacy, underpinning joint approaches to advocacy, raising awareness of international mechanisms for change, and advancing political commitment and regional action to eliminate the burden of cancer for future generations. Importantly, the meeting will help to shape a sustainable regional development agenda defined by a collectively agreed vision for the region’s future health
