Fifth, professors in schools of education
do much studying in determining what
should be included in teacher education
programs. Most have earned doctorates
from universities and have studied in depth
that which is recommended in the education
of teachers. It is largely university
professors of education who write in educational
journals and who keep up with
reading of the literature in education. Many
of these ideas are tried out in mini-lessons
in the university classroom as well as in student
teaching (Ediger and Rao, 2003).
