aria creates large-scale pastel drawings that document Earth’s shifting landscapes due to the effects of climate change. They serve as set designs for the classic ballet Giselle, and Netflix TV series House of Cards. In August 2012 Zaria led Chasing the Light, an expedition in Greenland that retraced the 1869 journey of American painter William Bradford. Following a residency at the New Bedford Whaling Museum, Zaria visited the Maldives, the lowest-lying country in the world and arguably the most vulnerable to rising seas. Based in Brooklyn, NY, Zaria holds a BS in Studio Arts from Skidmore College and has exhibited extensively in galleries and museums throughout the United States and oversea
