Working mothers are damaging their children's social lives as a survey reveals kids whose parents work are less likely to be invited on play dates.
The report found that two thirds of working mothers say most of the play dates are made at the school gates, which translates into fewer invitations for children of working couples.
A working mother who took part in the study said it is difficult for a parent in full employment to develop the same rapport among those that don’t work.
She said: “There’s a currency you earn by helping other mums out.
“But if you’re not around to do that then it makes it hard to ask people for pick-up and playdate favours.
