Signage and lighting for the GIS Building matching that of other buildings shall be designed and initially approved by EGAT prior to proceeding with the work. Foundations for transfonners shall be reinforced concrete on piles and shall be designed according to IEEE Standard. Spill containment including oil collecting pit with oil separator shall be provided for all oil-immersed transfonners. The containment and pit shall be filled with limestone No.2 to provide a fire quenching capability. Drain pipe from oil collecting pit shall be equipped with a manually operated valve installed in a valve pit closed to the transfonner spill contaimnent. Reinforce concrete firewalls between oil-immersed transfonners and adjacent structures and equipment shall also be provided. Chain link fence and gate shall be provided to control an access to the transformer area. A clearance between the transformer and firewalls shall be as per the requirement in EIT Standard and NFPA. The foundation of all HV equipment in the Intennediate Switchyard shall be reinforced concrete foundation on piles. Hot-dip galvanized steel structural system shall be used for HV Intennediate Switchyard superstructure. 2A.2.6 Structure for Emergency Diesel Generator The Emergency Diesel Generator and its auxiliaries shall be housed in a container or building. Doors shall be provided for access and equipment removal. Louvers shall be located in the walls as required by the HVAC system as required for the diesel engine air inlets. Exhausted outlet for diesel engine shall also be provided. Associated electrical and control equipment shall be installed in separate room/ compartment with air-conditioning meeting requirement of Section lD.2.7 HVAC. Arrangement of Electrical and Control Room shall provide clear view of Emergency Diesel Generator set. Louver shall be installed in the wall as required by HVAC system design criteria mentioned in Section 1D.2.7 and as required for the diesel engine air inlets. Exhausted outlet with silencer for diesel engine shall be provided. The structure shall also be designed to control noise. In case of building, Roofing shall be insulated metal sheet roofing with perforated metal liner. The first floor elevation shall be determined based on cable trenches at ground floor. The pile foundation shall also be provided for installation of fuel oil day tank, and fuel oil transfer pump set, etc. 2A.2.7 Cooling Tower and Plume Abatement System Cooling tower structure shall be reinforced concrete structure supported and anchored by reinforced concrete mat foundation on piles. Either precast with topping or cast-in-place concrete can be used for tower structure (beams and columns) except the cooling tower basin and wall shall be cast-in-place concrete. For precast slab, openings shall be designed taking into account of strength and serviceability requirement of precast slab itself.
