THE ASSIGNMENT
In this task, you are asked to create a 300-word blog post. Base your writing on something you learned during this week of the course. For example, you could describe your writing process, discuss something you found interesting in a specific video or discussion forum post, or even write about something you've read in the media recently that connects to a concept or topic covered in the week's content.
It's important to remember that you shouldn't try to cover too many topics at once. Make sure your blog post has a single core idea or argument.
PEER- AND SELF-ASSESSMENT
After you have submitted your blog post, you will be asked to anonymously grade five of your fellow MOOC students' blog posts using the rubric provided. You will then assess yourself using the same rubric. Because you will need other learners to grade your writing, you may have to wait in between submitting your response and grading. If you are unable to continue the process, check back in later.
Only after completing all these steps will you receive scores and feedback from three of your peers. Due dates for each step of the peer assessment process can be found within the 'Assignment Due Dates' section of the course and are listed below for you. Please make note of these due dates and times; late submissions will not be permitted.
15 August 23:00 UTC Blog Post #1 due
18 August 23:00 UTC Peer-Assessment due
19 August 23:00 UTC Self-Assessment due
HONOUR CODE
It should go without saying, but we would like to remind you of the first point in the edX Honour Code Pledge:
'By enrolling in an edX course, I agree that I will complete all mid-terms and final exams with my own work and only my own work. I will not submit the work of any other person.'
Please make sure that any work you submit for these assignments contain your own ideas and writing. Cite information that needs citation and acknowledge all research appropriately.
