Some creative-process aficionados suggest that brainstorming should be a scheduled
event, with limitations on group size and time allowances. While there is no reason not to
hold such meetings, creative thinking actually occurs all throughout the day, the month, and
the year. Cultivating an environment where brainstorming has a release that is supported at
all times–even when the employee is at home or on vacation–may be a more effective way
to capture those ideas that occur to special individuals throughout their employment. This
might be in the form of cultivating an environment in which every employee is encouraged
to write down their ideas when they arise and to provide various methods by which they can
convey and discuss their ideas with others. Some creative thinkers do not create well on
demand, but they can let their creative thinking flow when the environment is right for them.
