Candida dubliniensis is a Candida species recently described
by Sullivan et al.. This fungus is an agent
of oropharyngeal and systemic candidiasis in immunocompromised
patients [1,2]. Until 1995, C. dubliniensis was
misidenticed as Candida albicans since the two species
are phenotypically similar in their production of chlamydospores
on rice-agar-Tween medium, and germ tube formation
in serum .
