The data obtained from each assessment with the participants was analyzed using a correlational analysis. Pearson’s
correlations were calculated to compare age to both PEAK assessment and IQ test scores to assess any relationship that
maturation might have on either IQ or PEAK assessment scores. Additionally, Pearson’s correlations were also computed to compare IQ test scores to the PEAK assessment to determine the extent to which scores on PEAK assessment tool are related to measures of overall intelligence as represented by IQ scores.
Age was acquired through review of the participants’ existing files. Additionally, each participant’s records were reviewed to determine if they had any IQ scores conducted within the last five years. The participants IQ scores were derived from several different IQ tests. Table 1 displays the number of IQ scores used from each test.
