the Maternal Satisfaction with the Self-E⁄cacy Intervention
Questionnaire were satis¢ed with their
experience. In particular, most mothers felt that the
discussions with the researcher were bene¢cial, the
researcher provided assistance that was speci¢c to
their needs, they would recommend this type of additional
support to their friends, the information that
the researcher provided helped them to feel more
con¢dent to breastfeed, and the researcher assisted
them to meet their breastfeeding goals.
Interestingly, many mothers indicated that they
would have liked to have been able to contact the
researcher when they needed assistance (n5 39,
64%) and felt that additional assistance was required
beyond that of the nursing sta¡ (n5 33,
