Researchers should empirically test the proposed model and examine which specific
national culture dimensions are related to organizational culture and HRD interventions
in service firms. Possible research questions are as follows: “Which
organizational culture dimensions are most likely found in service firms in collectivist
cultures, such as Japan?” “How can service firms in collectivist cultures increase the
effectiveness of T&D?” In addition, the relationship between organizational culture
and HRD interventions should be studied. A possible research question might be,
“Will the interaction between team orientation and respect for people more likely support
HRD interventions in service firms?” Finally, researchers should examine the
relationship between HRD interventions and dimensions of service quality. A possible
research question may be, “Which HRD interventions most strongly relate to service
quality?” Alternatively, future research may include other national culture dimensions
(e.g., masculinity/femininity) or organizational culture profiles (e.g., outcome orientation)
that were not included in the detailed model
